Joel Ross will offer a master class on October 30th at the Higher Center of the Fundació Conservatori Liceu, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and November 2023 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
The vibraphonist and composer Joel Ross, born in Chicago and residing in Brooklyn, has collaborated as a sideman on deeply innovative albums such as Universal Beings and Deciphering the Message by Makaya McCraven; or In Common by Walter Smith III and Matthew Stevens, as well as on his own albums published by the Blue Note label: KingMaker, Who Are You? and The Parable of the Poet. In all the projects he participates in, Ross presents himself as a vibrant mix of talent and ideas, bringing a renewed vision to the vibraphone.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 12 years with the Voll-Damm Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Joel Ross are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
Feel free to take part in this event which is part of a unique proposal in the country that wants to bring the best jazz to students and music lovers!
