
Ethan Iverson and Mark Turner will offer a master class on 3rd of December 2025 at the Liceu Conservatory, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and December 2025 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
Ethan Iverson and Mark Turner are two highly respected musicians in the jazz world. Ethan Iverson is a pianist, composer, and writer, best known for his years with the band The Bad Plus and his influential jazz blog Do the Math. Mark Turner is a saxophonist recognized for his unique sound, improvisational skills, and contributions to contemporary jazz. They have collaborated on several projects, including the album “Temporary Kings” and as members of the Billy Hart Quartet.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 14 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Ethan Iverson and Mark Turner are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
