Elipsis (Michael League, Pedrito Martínez, Antonio Sánchez) will offer a master class on November 9 at the Higher Conservatory of Music Liceu, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and December 2024 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
A formation that stands out for its ability to fuse jazz with diverse musical influences, Elipsis is composed of talented musicians like bassist and composer Michael League and percussionists Pedrito Martínez and Antonio Sánchez. Each performance is an exploration of new sonic ideas, creating a unique and contemporary sound that challenges genre conventions and offers a rich and varied auditory experience. A torrent of ideas and rhythmic forces at the service of wholly unexpected music.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 13 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Elipsis (Michael League, Pedrito Martínez, Antonio Sánchez) are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
