Avishai Cohen will offer a master class on November 2 at the Higher Center of the Fundació Conservatori Liceu, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which from October to December 2022 will schedule 19 master classes and 26 concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
Avishai Cohen creates music with resonances of his greatest influence, Miles Davis, and under the influence of Rachmaninoff’s piano that he constantly listen to during the last weeks of his father’s life, this Israeli trumpeter based in New York reflects on the silence of absence while reminding us how powerful jazz can be to convey the deepest emotions. An exquisitely original composer, with a sensibility for both classical music and Israeli folk music, and with more than enough merit to be included in the league of the greatest.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 11 years with the Voll-Damm Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Avishai Cohen are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
Feel free to take part in this event which is part of a unique proposal in the country that wants to bring the best jazz to students and music lovers!
