Anat Cohen will offer a master class on November 4 at the Higher Conservatory of Music Liceu, within the Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series, which within October and December 2024 will schedule master classes, meetings and concerts by renowned jazz artists, turning the city of Barcelona into the nerve center of international jazz. These activities will take place mainly in the Auditori Conservatori Liceu, a space located in the heart of the Raval district, fully consolidated and recognized as one of the best of its kind in our country.
Anat Cohen is an acclaimed clarinetist and saxophonist known for her versatile repertoire that spans jazz, Brazilian choro, and various world music genres. A Berklee College of Music alumna, Cohen has earned wide critical acclaim and numerous awards. Her dynamic performances and recordings, such as “Claroscuro” and “Luminosa,” captivate audiences with their joyful improvisations and intricate melodies. Cohen’s work with the Anat Cohen Tentet further cements her status as a leading figure in contemporary jazz.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 13 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
Masterclasses such as that of Anat Cohen are one of the most important bets of the Liceu Conservatory, which enrich the academic experience of students and music lovers in our environment on their way to professionalism, allowing them to play and interact with the great masters of the current jazz scene.
