The Liceu Gran Ensemble is an innovative group that breaks down all barriers between musical styles and genres. It is a project born from the collaboration between the Jazz and Modern Music Departments and the Orchestral Instruments Departments. The Big Band formation is unusually mixed with the strings section, delivering an experimental repertoire that transports the audience to a special atmosphere under the direction of Toni Vaquer.
The Liceu Jazz – Masterclasses & Concerts concert series is part of the close collaboration that the Fundació Conservatori Liceu has maintained for 14 years with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, with the patronage of the Ferrer Music Foundation.
