As part of the Liceu Jazz series, the Live Room Conservatori Liceu houses every Wednesday the concerts of the Great Ensembles of the Jazz and Modern Music Department of the Conservatori Liceu.
On this occasion, the concert will feature two performances under the direction of Professor Sergi Vergés. The first will be presented by the Liceu Vocal Big Band, featuring advanced vocal students as soloists within the ensemble. The programme will include works by leading arrangers written for voices, with a special focus on music by vocal groups such as New York Voices.
The second part of the concert will feature the Liceu Big Band, also conducted by Sergi Vergés, one of the country’s most respected big band arrangers. In this performance, fourth-year students will present a high-quality repertoire designed to highlight and develop their skills as soloists. This ensemble has become a key fixture in the city’s jazz scene and is one of the few stable big bands of its kind in the country, offering its members a fully professional musical experience.
