The Live Room Conservatori Liceu houses every Wednesday the concerts of the Great Ensembles of the Jazz and Modern Music Department of the Conservatori Liceu.
On this occasion, the concert will consist of two performances. In one, the Liceu Big Band will take the stage, directed by Sergi Vergés, one of the country’s most experienced Big Band arrangers. This ensemble has become a key part of the city’s jazz scene, being one of the few stable formations of its kind in the country and offering its members a fully professional experience.In 2025, the Liceu Big Band will celebrate 15 years of continuous programming, a rare milestone in our environment. To mark the occasion, the Conservatori Liceu is taking a step forward by expanding its offerings with the creation of a second Big Band, which will stand out for its focus on vocal repertoire. This makes it the first institution in the country to have two student-based ensembles of this kind.Thus, the second performance will feature the newly formed Liceu Vocal Big Band, which will include six advanced Voice students as soloists in the ensemble.
