Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts reaches its tenth edition this year, reaffirming itself as one of the most prominent initiatives of its kind and as a much-anticipated meeting point for students of the Conservatori Liceu’s Higher Centre and renowned international masters, as well as being an unmissable event for music lovers in Barcelona, offering the best live music.
Once again, the Master’s in Opera Performance offered by the Conservatori Liceu gives young professional singers the opportunity to grow and develop as performers in an environment of artistic excellence and high musical competition. The aim of the Master’s program is the preparation, rehearsal, and staging of a significant title from the operatic repertoire, with the collaboration of the center’s faculty and various specialists in vocal, instrumental, and theatrical interpretation of this genre.
This year, the intense weeks of work that have taken place throughout the course will culminate in a performance of The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart, a unique piece due to its fusion of genres, combining elements of fairy tale and folk music with deeply spiritual roots. Its melodic richness, archetypal characters, and innovative musical ideas make it one of the most special works in the operatic repertoire.
The cast will be entirely made up of students from the program, with musical direction by Josep Planells, stage direction by Anna Ponces, and artistic direction by Josep Bros. This Master’s program provides an opportunity for students to train in the context of a professional-level opera production, guided by experts in this great masterpiece of the Viennese composer.

The Magic Flute will be performed in an ideal setting, the Auditorium of the Conservatori Liceu, with the accompaniment of the Symphony Orchestra formed by the Centre’s orchestral instrument students, who will also have the unique opportunity to experience an operatic evening from the orchestra pit, with the great artistic responsibility this entails.
The Master’s in Artistic Studies in Opera Performance offered by the Conservatori Superior Liceu has become a professionalizing offer for talented young lyric singers, who have the opportunity to prepare and perform a title from the great operatic repertoire under the guidance of top experts in opera performance and stage direction.
