Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts is synonymous with great music and musical wisdom shared by the greatest performers and creators. This concert series reaches its eighth edition this year, reaffirming itself as one of the most interesting initiatives of its kind, and, as always expected, a meeting point for the students of the Higher Center of the Liceu Conservatory with the great international masters, and as an appointment for music lovers from Barcelona with the best music.
Pavel Vernikov and Svetlana Makarova have left us during the last years at the Liceu Conservatory great moments of musical mastery with their masterclasses open to the public in the past editions of the Liceu Cambra cycle, or his guidance as a teacher of the Master students of the Liceu Conservatory.
Trained at the Stolyarsky School of Music and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Vernikov quickly gained a great reputation as a virtuoso. He has won the prestigious ARD in Munich, the Vittorio Gui in Florence and has performed on the best stages in the world, such as the Concertgebouw, the Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Wigmore Hall and La Scala in Milan, among others. He has performed as a soloist and as part of the prestigious Tchaikovsky Trio, with which he has put his technique at the service of chamber music alongside musicians such as Sviatoslav Richter, Alain Meunier, Natalia Gutman, Krystian Zimerman and Janine. Jansen, among others.
On the other hand, Svetlana Makarova also has a long concert and record career, highlighting the recordings of Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Schubert and Schönberg, as well as her work as a teacher at the Gnessin State School of Music in Moscow and the Haute École de Musique of Lausana.
Liceu Cambra – Masterclasses & Concerts series has the patronage of Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation.
