Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts offers a selection of excellent masterclasses taught by prominent international figures in musical creation and interpretation. In this tenth edition, it has established itself as a key pedagogical and artistic initiative, bringing Conservatori Liceu students closer to great masters and becoming a meeting point for music lovers in Barcelona.
This masterclass will be taught by soprano Roberta Invernizzi, a leading interpreter in the world of Baroque and Renaissance music with over 30 years of experience.
Her unique approach to Baroque and Renaissance music is characterized by a profound respect for historical authenticity, combined with a vibrant and expressive performance style.
Born in Milan, she began her musical journey as a pianist and double bass player before discovering her passion for singing and beginning her studies with Margaret Heyward and graduating from Scuola Civica di Milano. With her rare blend of profound respect for the historically informed and an unfailing dramatic sense, she quickly established herself a model for the interpretation of Renaissance and Baroque repertoire.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with some of the most esteemed early music ensembles and conductors. Her recordings with ensembles Il Giardino Armonico, Europa Galante, Cappella della Pietà de’ Turchini, Concerto Italiano, Europa Galante, and La Risonanza are now considered benchmarks in the field. Her extensive discography is critically acclaimed and a treasure trove for early music enthusiasts. It counts more than 100 recordings, spanning works by Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Händel, and many others. Her talent especially shines in her interpretations of Händel’s music, as she demonstrates across the whole Gramophone Award-winning series of recordings by Glossa of chamber cantatas in Italian with Fabio Bonizzoni.
Her illustrious career includes leading roles in “Dido and Aeneas” at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and Teatro Regio Torino, “La Vergine Addolorata” by A. Currently she is Professor at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, and at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini of Florence.
