Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts is a symbol of musical excellence and a unique space for the exchange of knowledge between some of the most renowned musicians and creators worldwide. In this tenth edition, the series establishes itself as one of the most important initiatives in its field, providing an ideal environment for Conservatori Liceu students to share experiences with internationally acclaimed masters through masterclasses. Additionally, it becomes an unmissable event for music lovers in Barcelona, where they can enjoy high-quality live concerts.
Now, the cycle presents a piano masterclass by Pascal Le Corre, a French performer with a distinguished international career as a soloist and chamber musician, as well as a prominent teacher at various conservatories and music institutes.
He studied piano with Aldo Ciccolini at the Paris Conservatoire. He was awarded a prize at the “Maria Canals” International Piano Competition in Barcelona in 1984 and received a scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin and Georges Cziffra Foundation and the Action Musicale Philip Morris.
As a piano soloist, he has performed in Europe, the United States and Japan and worked with the Orchestre Lamoureux and Orchestre Colonne, the Ensemble Orchester de Paris and the Orchestre de Paris. In addition to works by Beethoven, Mozart and Liszt, his repertoire includes compositions by 20th century masters such as Francis Poulenc, Eric Satie, Tōru Takemitsu, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Stavros Xarchakos.
He has recorded the piano works of Floreciente Schmitt, compositions for violin and piano by Karol Szymanowski with Annick Roussin and the piano version of Claude Debussy’s opera Pelléas et Mélisande.
Alongside his career as an instrumentalist, which he divides between recitals, chamber music and accompanying singers, he teaches at the CRR in Paris and is a student advisor at the Pôle Supérieur d’enseignement artistique de Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB).
Passionate about psychology, he soon became interested in cognitive sciences, and more specifically in Neuro-linguistic Programming, and in 1993 he was certified as a master practitioner of this discipline. In addition to purely musical aspects, his pedagogical research has focused on the study of the cognitive and emotional processes of the musician, as evidenced by numerous articles, books and seminars on topics such as memorisation, stage fright, decoding, memorisation, artistic charisma, and creativity.
In 2015, he founded, with Clément Sapin, ‘Lude et Interlude’, a cultural engineering and artistic support agency that helps musicians to develop their career.
