José María Ortí Soriano (Torrent, Valencia), is a founding professor of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain and a member of the National Brass Ensemble. He combines this intense concert activity with teaching, a field in which he is frequently requested to give courses of trumpet performance. He is in possession of the “Gold Medal of Fine Arts” and the “Knight’s Cross of the Civil Merit Order” awarded by H.M. the King Don Juan Carlos.
He is soloist Trumpet of the Spanish National Orchestra, Professor at the Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music and the Higher Conservatory of Music “Joaquín Rodrigo” of Valencia.
He is a member of the Valencian Music Academy. He is a regular guest as a teacher of the Youth Orchestra of the Valencian Community, as well as most of the Spanish Youth Orchestras. He offers regular lessons to students in the European Youth Orchestras and the Gustav Mahler Orchestra. As a result of his long activity as a soloist and teacher, he has innumerable professional students who currently occupy most of the jobs in the best Orchestras, Bands, Chamber Groups, soloists, Institutes and Conservatories in Spain, as well as Europe.
In the field of conducting, he has been conducted by important conductors, having taken courses with several of them, based on the Spanish holders of the ONE Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos and Jesús López Cobos and whom he has set standards in the world of orchestral conducting such as Sergio Chelividaque.
