Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts is synonymous with great music and musical wisdom shared by the greatest performers and creators. This concert series reaches its ninth edition this year, reaffirming itself as one of the most interesting initiatives of its kind, and, as always expected, a meeting point for the students of the Higher Center of the Liceu Conservatory with the great international masters, and as an appointment for music lovers from Barcelona with the best music.
The Cuarteto Latinoamericano is formed by Saúl Bitrán, Arón Bitrán, Álvaro Bitrán and Javier Montiel. Their musical journey began in 1982, performing Mozart, Beethoven, Borodin and Ravel. Over time, he has delved into the richness of Latin American music, attracting the interest of audiences all over the world.
In its long trajectory, the quartet has recorded more than eighty albums and won awards such as the Grammy and the Diapason D’Or. Their talent has taken them to Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, iconic concert halls in Israel, Japan, New Zealand, and practically all over Europe and America.
In addition to its achievements on stage, the quartet regularly shares its knowledge in universities, conservatories and international festivals.
The Cuarteto Latinoamericano is supported by the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes de México through the project México en Escena and many other institutions that allow it to continue exploring and spreading the works of Villa-Lobos, Revueltas, Ginastera, Piazzolla and many other great Latin American masters.
