In the next school year, some students who have received provisional acceptance from Berklee College of Music will begin their studies in Barcelona, as a part of the collaboration between Liceu Conservatory and Berklee. These students will course a previous school year before to get fully admitted for the Fall 2016 semester at Berklee. In order to meet the Board’s requirements to be it, they must successfully complete one year of study at a school of the Berklee International Network, as is the case of Liceu Conservatory, one of the founding members of the network, but also of the music schools of Tel Aviv and Athens. Every course completed with a grade of B or higher will transfer to Berklee and they will begin at the Boston campus as third semester students in the fall of 2016. This students’ reception in Barcelona will reinforce the close relationship between Liceu Conservatory and Berklee and it’s another example of the global nature of the music college and its deep commitment to the international network.
L´Aula of Modern Music and Jazz of Liceu Conservatory is the first founding member of the international network of schools (Berklee International Network). The studies made in L’Aula have been validated for the Berklee School of Music since 1988, with the direct acceptance of Liceu’ students in the third year of the Berklee’s program. This relationship has been consolidated over the years and Berklee’s teachers visit every year the Liceu Conservatory offering lectures to the students, in addition to auditions to access Boston. The education in L´Aula of Modern Music and Jazz of Liceu Conservatory project, incorporates a program based on the experience and prestige of the Berklee College of Music. The institutions share an academic agreement, whereby students graduated in L´Aula of Modern Music and Jazz of Liceu Conservatory can continue their studies directly to the third year of the Bachelor’s degree at Berklee.
