At the Liceu Conservatory <\/strong>\u2013 located very near to the historic seat in the heart of Barcelona, at Nou de la Rambla street (between La Rambla and Paral\u00b7lel Avenue) \u2013 you can obtain the Bachelor<\/strong> of Music. The degree may be awarded<\/strong> for Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, Jazz and Modern Music Performance, Composition and Pedagogy. There are also Master’s programs<\/strong><\/a> in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, Jazz, and Modern Music Performance, Chamber Music, Opera, and Composition applied to audio-visual and scenic production.<\/p>\n

Since its beginning in 1837, the Center has offered the highest-level studies in Performance and other Music courses and awards the Bachelor of Music under the current legislation.<\/p>\n

The Centre has always wanted to have the best teachers. Thus we can remember names such as Pau Casals, Engelbert Humperdinck, Higini Angl\u00e8s or Joaqu\u00edn Zamacois, among many others. Let us not forget as well the great big names \u2013in performance and composition\u2013 produced in the classrooms of the Center: legendary singers such as Francesc Vi\u00f1as, Montserrat Caball\u00e9 or Victoria de los \u00c1ngeles. Also Frank Marshall, a cornerstone in the Catalan pianistic tradition, or great composers such as Joan Guinjoan.<\/p>\n

During the first decades of the XXI Century, the substantial changes produced in Musical Higher Education in our country have had, consequently, the assimilation of the Bachelor Degrees. These studies have been fully integrated into the European Higher Education Area and upgraded with the official Master’s Degrees, equal to university degrees.<\/p>\n

To deal with this challenge, since 2008, the Center counts on new facilities at the new seat of the Liceu Conservatory, not far from the historical building in Rambles. Its areas are fully adequate, from the acoustical and environmental point of view, just as our times demand to music studies of the highest quality.<\/p>\n
