For the next School year 2019-2020, the Liceu Conservatory Singing Faculty will have the addition of Fiorenza Cedolins as a teacher for both the Bachelor’s and Music Training programs.
During her impressing career, Cedolins has performed the most demanding operas of the classic and belcanto repertoire, from Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana to Verdi’s Il Trovatore or Simon Boccanegra, including Puccini (Tosca, Madama Butterfly or Manon Lescaut), Bellini (Norma) or Giordano (Andrea Chénier). She has appeared in the world’s leading lyrical theatres: the Scala of Milan, the Metropolitan of New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Paris Opera, the Royal Theater of Madrid, the Liceu of Barcelona, the Covent Garden of London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam or the Fenice in Venice.
It is not the first time that the Liceu Conservatory welcomes this outstanding singer: in the last edition of the Liceu Cambra masterclasses series, the students could already profit from the advice and knowledge of the Italian soprano, one of the great voices of the current operatic scene and a household name at the Barcelona stages in the last years.
Schooled under the guidance of Maestro Roberto Benaglio, one of the most trusted and reliable depositaries of the secrets of the Italian singing tradition, Fiorenza Cedolins was soon noted for the beautiful colour of her voice, warm sound, clear diction, remarkable vocal range and for her astounding and delicate technique that allowed her from the start to face the challenges of a repertoire that ranges from the first Verdi until the Verismo, not forgetting the Bellini of “Norma”.
A great opportunity for all singing students to learn from the experience of this lyrical soprano, a renowned and highly demanded singer, that will accompany them in their learning process, in a personalized way.
