The group Delight, formed by the graduates in modern singing from the Centre Superior at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, Naima Ventura and Maria del Rio, have been selected to participate in the 4th edition of the IMB Artist Talent organised by the International Music Business School (IMB School).
This selection is the result of the collaboration agreement between IMB School and the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, whose aim is that a group of students or graduates of the Liceu Conservatory will form part of the IMB Artist Talent Incubator, the IMB School’s artist development programme.
Being part of the programme gives access to a management team made up of students from the Music Business Management master’s degree and a budget of 3,000€ managed by the students to work together and help:
- The selection and recording of your own single.
- The definition of the artistic brand and the production of a video clip.
- The promotion and digital distribution of the single.
- Planning the live format.
Delight was founded in 2019 and they compose tender and honest songs, introspective in nature, where they show their most sincere concerns. A visceral and endearing message that they dress with jazz roots, derived from their training at the Liceu Conservatory. Their creative process gives way to experimentation and transports them towards neo-soul, pop or electronica, and brings them closer to their great influences, which include, among others, Moonchild, Nick Hakim, Hiatus Kaiyote, Erykah Badu, Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar. In the spring of 2021 they released two singles, “We Made Love” and “Start”, and in January 2022 a third, “Demon”, was released. A hat-trick that has served as a morsel to present their debut album, “I’ll Be Back In June”, produced by Arnau Figueres and Kquimi Saigi and released last March. The duo has solid live experience, with more than fifty concerts on their CV, including performances at the Barcelona Jamboree, the Granollers Jazz Festival, the Sant Pere de Ribes Monocicle Festival and the Vic Live Music Market.
This project is in line with the educational principles of the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, which aims to encourage student participation in its own activities or those carried out in external spaces through existing agreements with other related entities, as well as the promotion of personal projects or those of the Centre that arise from the internal dynamics among students and graduates.
From the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, we congratulate the group Delight and we wish them every success in their professional career.
