The Conservatori Professional de Música del Liceu, located in plaça Urquinaona in the center of Barcelona, offers Intermediate Music Studies to students who have completed basic or elementary music studies.
The purpose of the professional level is to give students the necessary skills to independently play music.
Studying music has undeniable personal development benefits, like fostering creativity, teamwork, goals, excellence, expression and communication… all of these benefits are consistently present in the work outlined in our curriculum.
The primary foundations for our studies are:
Musical independence of students for playing both solo and ensemble music. For both amateur musicians as well as those who wish to continue with advanced music studies, through a ciriculum that is able to be customized for each student profile.
Practical training, with the instrument and ensemble subjects that are the student’s primary focus. Through their studies, students will learn a vast and varied repertoire, including in-depth studies of each of the musical styles.
Cross-training between instrumental and theory materials to give students the ability to understand, analyze and appreciate the texts and musical styles necessary for in-depth and qualitative instrumental studies.
Scheduling activities throughout the course; all students participate regularly in concerts as soloists or with the center’s instrumental and vocal ensembles. Classes are supplemented with workshops, master classes, meetings and exchanges.
Personalized monitoring by an advisor who teaches the instrument and coordinates with the other teachers will consistently ensure optimal performance of the student and optimization of his/her study plan according to his/her interests and abilities.
Collaboration with the Conservatori Superior del Liceu to provide continuity in the curriculum in order to guarantee a smooth transition from one center to the other, and to organize joint activities with the regular programming of master classes with our center’s teachers and use of the Auditorium and the infrastructure of the advanced studies center for our concerts and activities.
