The Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, located in the center of Barcelona, has been dedicated to the highest level of musical training since its founding in 1837.
The Conservatory strives for excellence in the interpretation, creation and teaching of music with a practical cirriculum that prepares students for a career in a musical world that is continually more demanding and varied.
The success of this endeavor is ensured through an expert teaching staff, master classes from visiting teachers, performance projects in various configurations (orchestra, chamber music, opera, big band, ensembles, etc.) and modern facilities, perfectly suited to musical pursuits.
The musical fields available range from Classical to Contemporary Music, Jazz to Modern Music as well as specializations in traditional music, such as Flamenco. This variety meets the demands of young students, who are used to living in a rich and diverse world, in which the response to their musical explorations cannot be handled in the same way for every student.
The cultural diversity the Conservatory students experience is continually growing in new ways: the number of students from various parts of the world increases each day, thanks to the appeal that studies at the Liceu have for musicians around the world, and also to the collaborative programs with European and American institutions. The mix of local students and those that come from various regions of Spain and abroad represents an unmistakable benefit for everyone.
